Steele Wool

The Story

In this dark comedy, a deaf housewife exterminates her abusive husband and gets the chance to taste the Highlife by becoming a hired assassin.

What is the Highlife?  How does it feel to be on top of the world? Daphne Wool has no idea but dreams there has to be a better life. Bad enough to be deaf, worse if you’re married to an abusive A-hole.  In this darkly comedic tale, Daphne has just killed her husband but was unaware he was already targeted by a Hired Gun.  Long time friend, Tony Steele, helps her negotiate a cut with the Hitman but the cash pickup goes sour when Daphne is kidnapped and brought before the Hitman’s Boss. When Tony finds her, he’s shocked to hear she’s been offered a job as a hired assassin. Gets worse when Daphne informs him they want Tony to be her get-away driver. Tony flips out but Daphne is excited, sees this as a chance for both to taste the Highlife. Unable to walk away, Tony helps her train, but since her special jobs will not allow guns, she must learn to kill with everyday products.  This starts their journey to become profitable killers but it’s never a smooth ride. Daphne’s romantic notion of cleansing the world of evil will be dashed just as Tony starts to see the perks of the job.  The Hitman has taken a liking to Daphne and puts himself at risk to protect her.  In the end, Daphne, Tony and the Hitman will have to join forces to survive the Boss’ suicidal Red Folder assignment.
